SUNBOW'S SYNOPSIS
When Cobra forces, led by the Crimson Twins, seize control of G.I.Joe’s secret moon base and an ultra secret Moon Star warship, they begin a plan for world domination which seems invincible. Linking the Moon Star to earth by means of a series of secretly planted Relay Cubes, Cobra creates a Cone of Power beneath which no earth vehicle or machine can function. All is darkness and hopelessness until G.I.Joe learns the secret of the mysterious Cubes and launches a four-pronged attack on all Cobra strongholds, disconnecting the Cubes from their link to the Moon Star, and, ultimately, pursuing Cobra and the Crimson Twins to their lair in Enterprise City bringing them to justice. [Notes: There was neither a Moon Star warship nor a secret moon base in the miniseries; the Cone of Power was renamed as the Pyramid of Darkness]

Zartan's identity on Space Station Delta, Sgt. Popper, may be a nod to the Beatles album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Below are the live-action sequence credits when Sgt. Slaughter introduced all of the episodes for the mini-series when it was airing in syndication:
Starring Sgt. Slaughter as himself
Written by: Jay Bacal and Tim Speidel

Production Manager: Nel Lombardo

ERRORS
Quick Kick was accidentally included at Joe headquarters moments before and after the base was nearly destroyed, however, the "barefoot stranger" did not appear until part three.

Rock 'n' Roll is seen at Joe headquarters and Space Station Delta.
