"Poppycock! What gives you that silly idea?"
- Cobra Commander (after Hector Ramirez states that some people believe Cobra initiates conflict)

Cobra's Emperor interrupts Cobra Commander’s interview and begins to explain the series of events surrounding the destroyed Ghost plane. A squadron of Night Ravens was on a routine patrol and was attacked by several G.I.Joe Conquest X-30s, whose missiles were destroyed along with some of the planes. Cobra Commander tries to point out that there was another unidentified aircraft in the area, however, Serpentor orders him to shut up. Cobra Commander then adds that the Night Ravens elected to leave since they were low on fuel.

After Dr. Mindbender states that Cobra hated to leave the pilots in their hour of greatest need and that Cobra is not without humane feelings, a group of Strato-Vipers laugh quietly and are shushed by a Tele-Viper.

Serpentor points out that Cobra would have no reason to shoot down a plane that was not attacking them, and Dr. Mindbender chimes in that only a war-mongering superpower would act in such a manner, or someone like G.I.Joe. But Hector Ramirez replies that some believe Cobra initiates conflict. “Poppycock! What gives you that silly idea?” asks Cobra Commander. “Well, let’s see,” responds Ramirez. “There was your invasion of Washington DC, the mechanical serpent you unleashed on New York City, the time you melted the polar ice cap…”

Over the island, Cobra Night Ravens release several drones ships and Sullivan and Michaels elect to “beat feet,” however, there isn't a place to hide from the BATs.

Lift-Ticket asks if Flint is overplaying the jealous role, but Flint explains that he knows what he saw. Recalling a ride to Lady Jaye’s room on a base, an MP outside the door asks if she is expecting him. Flint states he is dropping by as a surprise, and the unsure MP tells Flint that the reason seems okay.

But when Flint overhears Major Ron Michaels inviting Lady Jaye over to his place and suggesting that she wear something casual, Flint angrily adjusts his beret and marches back down the hall. The doors to the building burst open and the shocked MP asks, “What the- ?!” Then he sees Flint’s face and quietly says, “Uh-oh.”

Lifeline tries to cheer Flint up by suggesting that “what he saw wasn’t what he saw,” however, Beach Head interrupts the conversation with a report of Cobra radio transmissions that state several BATs were dropped on an island they just visited. Realizing Cobra was near the island and probably looking for Sullivan and Michaels, the Tomahawk turns back toward the island.

Ramirez continues to list Cobra’s various attacks on the world and Cobra Commander responds in a bored voice, “Oh, picky, picky, picky.” After Dr. Mindbender states the history of the events is an exaggeration of the truth, Serpentor grabs the TV screen and smashes it after he calls Ramirez an “insignificant piece of shriveled up shoe leather.” Dr. Mindbender points out in a soothing voice that Serpentor has made his point and adds that they would never lie on their favorite show, Twenty Questions. However, General Hawk is unimpressed and states that he could list chapter and verse all of the Cobra attacks and tactics, and then responds to Dr. Mindbender that Cobra forced G.I.Joe into existence.

Near the island, BATs rip apart a raft, analyze the pieces and begin to track the Ghost pilots, who start their retreat. But Michaels trips, breaks his leg and tells his co-pilot to try and escape while he holds off the BATs. Pulling out a gun, Sullivan replies, “No go, partner. How are you going to pay me back the fifty bucks you borrowed last pay day?” And a hand suddenly clamps over his mouth.
