"Yeah, and we’re dead tired."
- Dial-Tone (after Flint notes that Montazuma's tomb is "dead ahead")

As a Cobra submarine emerges from a nearby river, Sci Fi radios General Hawk, “It’s Cobra time.” Tomax and Xamot lead the Stuns out of the sub, race toward the Joes and then radio the Night Ravens to provide air support.

The Joes fire back with the cannons on their AWE Strikers, however, Tomax and Xamot slip into Napolean’s tomb after tossing dynamite under the limo of the demanding mayor of Paris and knocking out Ripcord and Airtight, who rush towards the Twins as they make a run for the tomb.

Placing the DNA extractor on top of Napolean’s remains, Tomax and Xamot note that the process won’t take long since Napolean was always a bit short. The Crimson Guard Commanders exit the tomb, jump over Gung Ho and Roadblock and drive away in the Joes' AWE Strikers while shouting triumphantly, “Cobraaa!”

Lift-Ticket finds Footloose, Wild Bill, Dusty and Cross Country clinging to a HAVOC and lowers a basket on a winch in order to rescue them. As Lifeline wheels in the Joes, Lift-Ticket then asks Slipstream about Zarana. Unable to find her, Slipstream considers the possibility that she and Thrasher drowned. However, the mercenaries have slipped into a cave and escaped with General Amon-Toth's DNA.

After General Hawk places Sci Fi in charge of the Joes in Paris, he fires two thrusters on his belt, requests permission to join the Joes in the plane and learns from Roadblock that the Joes are ready to go. After Roadblock links General Hawk's radio with Duke, Hawk learns that Duke and the other Joes are approaching Ivan the Terrible's tomb with the Oktober Guard. Duke then adds Col. Brekhov and Daina send their warmest regards. Hawk asks about Horrorshow, but the large Russian soldier replies, “Nyet! Yo Ivan!”

Flint arrives at Montazuma’s tomb and tells Hawk that the tomb is “dead ahead.” “Yeah,” mumbles Dial-Tone, “and we’re dead tired.” Adding that he will contact Hawk when the Joes are in position, Flint then signs off. Beach Head informs General Hawk that it is midnight in Transylvania and that the Joes are two hours from the crypt of Vlad Tempes. As the AWE Strikers drive down the twisted dirt roads under a dark sky, Mainframe adds that the country reminds him of the times he used to take his kids trick-or-treating.

Flint jokes with Recondo, Dial-Tone and Low-Light that the Montazuma’s tomb looks like a great place for a singles’ weekend. Pointing to the Aztec pool of Death, Recondo suggests that they could even take their dates for a swim. Taking positions around the tomb, the Joes wait for Cobra, and Dial-Tone asks Low-Light if he has seen a scarier place. Flint tells the Joes to cut the chatter and adds that he knows Cobra is in the jungle since he can feel them. “G.I.Joe is here, I tell you,” Zartan tells his Dreadnoks. “I can feel them.”

Ripper suggests they simply go in, smash the Joes, swipe the CIA and leave. Zartan angrily corrects Ripper that they are stealing DNA and watches as Zandar leaves the group and aims a pen-shaped camera toward the Joes around the tomb. After Zartan spots three of the Joes on a small video screen, Zandar attacks Low-Light.

Flint and Dial-Tone dive for cover while under fire from the Dreadnoks and Recondo knocks Zartan off a wall before Cobra’s master of disguise can shoot him. “Drop in anytime, Zartan,” Recondo taunts as the mercenary falls to the ground. Low-Light punches Zandar and then dives for cover as Monkeywrench tosses a bomb at him. Torch fires his flamethrower at the Joes and they are forced to dive into the Aztec Pool of Death.
