Home Episode Summaries Season 1 The Pyramid of Darkness: Knotting Cobra's Coils

"I lost my cubes - my wonderful cubes! All gone! Now I'll never rule the world. I hate this job!"
- Cobra Commander (after witnessing the Joes destroy his pyramid of darkness)

Cobra Commander orders his troops to obliterate the Joes and to raise the Cobra Dragon, a device operated by Tomax and Xamot that causes the Joes to fall to the ground because of heatstroke. Under a Vamp, Bazooka suggests yodelling to stop the Cobra Dragon. Quick Kick grabs a microphone, turns the volume up to the maximum volume and the three Joes are able to bring down a chunk of rock that crashes into the Dragon.

The Joes recover and Shipwreck remarks that "the three yodelling yokels did it!" Rushing into the temple, the Joe team is unable to catch Cobra Commander and the twins, who escape in a Cobra Rattler, however, Shipwreck finds the self-destruct console after Polly rests on a lever for a second. "Polly, " Shipwreck states, "your allowance just went up to ten crackers a week!"

Suddenly, Destro's low-altitude control system is destroyed. After all of the cubes explode, Cobra Command whines about how much he hates his job while the twins fly the Rattler toward the twin Extensive Enterprises buildings. Flint and a squadron of Skystrikers pursue, however, Tomax and Xamot open a landing pad on the side of the building and escape.

The towers shed their glass and reveal themselves to be a rocket with a gantry. Shipwreck and Snake Eyes run toward the tower to stop Cobra while Duke and the other Joes try to rig a proton beam strong enough to destroy the rocket. As the elevator opens for Snake Eyes and Shipwreck, they see Satin inside and she asks if they need a lift.

They ride up to the top and Satin jams Cobra Commander's helmet into the rocket's control panels as revenge for what he did to her father. Meanwhile, Shipwreck and Snake Eyes knock around the Crimson Guard Commanders before escaping in Cobra Trubble Bubbles.

Zartan escapes the space station by flying away in an escape pod after shoving the Dreadnoks into a garbage and ejecting them into space. Moments before Duke fires a proton beam to destroy Cobra's rocket, a semi-stunned Cobra Commander, Tomax and Xamot fly away.

Inside a subway car, the Cobra brass argue about who is responsible for causing the pyramid of darkness to fail and in the area around Extensive Enterprises, the Joes lead the latest bunch of Cobra prisoners to jail. Above the lines of Cobra and Joe agents, Lady Jaye asks her wingmate what they will now do for thrills. Flint suggests the Joe comminsary simply because of the food.
