"A deal? With Cobra? Surely you can't be serious!"
- the Baroness (to Duke while at the heavy water pool)

Torpedo is granted permission by Duke to "wheel and deal" with the Cobra forces. The partnership between the Joe and Cobra forces is sealed only after the Baroness is attacked by a tube worm. The tubeworms are defeated by shooting away the anchor, tubes made of rock, that hold their home to the ocean floor. As the tubes rise, the necessary pressure decreases and the tube worms let go of Joes and Cobras.

As soon as both sides have a sample of the second element, the Baroness double-crosses the Joes and attacks. Realizing the pointlessness of the fight, the Joes retreat and the Cobra forces return to their base.

In the snowy woods, Snake Eyes recovers in a cabin thanks to the herbs of the blind woodsman. There he is told by the woodsman that even though he is blind and he can not see why Snake Eyes wears a mask, the woodsman knows the heart of Snake Eyes is true and that is all that matters. After handing the canister of radioactive crystals to Snake Eyes and explaining that the canister was easy to find in the snow, the woodsman decides on a name for the wolf, Timber, and then offers directions for the way back to civilization.

At Joe headquarters, Duke is told about plan hatched by Short-Fuze, Steeler and Clutch. Their plan is to launch a satellite armed with lasers and to destroy the relay satellite used by Cobra. But as soon as the Joe killer satellite is launched, Destro uses the last of the third element to send space shock troopers into space so they can destroy the Joe satellite.

Dr. Vandermeer laments over the current situation and tells the Joes that they need a miracle after the destruction of the killer satellite. Cover Girl drives her Wolverine inside and Snake Eyes jumps out of the trailer. The Joes cheers and welcome him back as he hands the canister of crystals to Duke. But the canister is boobytrapped, and it releases a paralyzing gas before the Joes can dispose of the canister, which has a bomb inside.
