Back in the arctic cave, the Joes encounter SNAKE robots, but they are defeated by a few well-placed shots, a flamethrower, turning them on each other, twirling one around so fast that the computerized guidance system shuts down. Snake Eyes then goes deeper into the cave to retrieve the crystals in a monorail car.

Duke and the ten foot tall opponent, Ramar, continue to fight while under the electronic spell of the headbands. As Cobra Commander and Destro's conversation turns bitter, Duke slides the gold foil strip given to him by Selena and escapes by causing an electrifying feedback on Destro's and Cobra Commander's joysticks. Climbing over a wall, running down several corridors and climbing into a hang glider bay, Duke escapes after Selena knocks out Cobra agent. Duke slips his ring onto her hand and then flies away on a Cobra hanglider, but he is pursued by Cobra.

At the Sea of Ice, Major Bludd activates a fail safe device that releases a deadly radioactive cloud that sweeps forward to the front of the cave. Snake Eyes stops the cloud by shooting a sensor that drops a protective shield from the ceiling to the ground, unfortunately, he is caught on the wrong side. After saying their good-byes to Snake Eyes, the other Joes escape by climbing up a ladder that hangs from an opening in the ceiling.

World leaders congregate on Tanu Island in the Pacific and are soon transferred by the MASS device to the Cobra Fortress. Cobra Commander returns to the airwaves and demands the surrender of the world by noon tomorrow or chaos, ruin and destruction will follow. Duke awakens, but he cannot recall where the Cobra base is located.

Meanwhile, Duke crashes his hanglider into a tree, drops into a HISS tank and drives away. He is chased through a swamp by Cobra and appears to drown in quicksand after the tank crashes. After two Cobra agents walk way, Duke uses a vine to climb out and is rushed via helicopter to G.I.Joe headquarters, where Doc, Cover Girl and Steeler roll Duke inside.
