SUMMARY

"Poetry? That idiot Bludd thinks that Proust rhymes with Faust!"
- Cobra Commander (to the Baroness, who believes Bludd's poetry is "quite beautiful")

Disguised as Ripcord, an unconscious Zartan is hauled aboard a WHALE by Flint while a Cobra helicopter, transporting Destro, Dr. Mindbender, Buzzer and the Baroness, flies over the Joes. The heat-seeking rockets from the WHALE strike the helicopter, causing it to crash on Cobra Island and destroy all of the Rattlers. Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow, who hacked and slashed their way across the island in hopes of escaping by plane, continue their attempt to escape by running to the ship docks. General Hawk arrives by Dragonfly with Wild Bill, and after Hawk switches places with Ripcord, the Joes' leader boards a Devilfish with Beach Head and joins Wet Suit on a mission to rescue Snake Eyes, who successfully steals a Cobra Hydrofoil with Storm Shadow and streaks away from Cobra's island. However, Dr. Mindbender and two Cobra Eels chase the ninjas on Cobra hydro-sleds. One of the Eels destroys Hawk and Beach Head's Devilfish, but Wet Suit picks them up and the Joes destroy Cobra's torpedoes with their firearms and then zoom between the two Hydro-sleds, which capsize in the Devilfish's wake. Elsewhere, Snake Eyes fights several sharks with a knife while a bleeding Storm Shadow struggles to rid himself of two Eels under water. Snake Eyes is pulled aboard the Devilfish by Hawk and Storm Shadow, the lone survival of the shark attack, walks onto Cobra Island's beach, where he is shot in the chest by the Baroness and falls to the ground. At an airport in Springfield, a delirious Ripcord, who is disguised as Zartan, is pulled out of a Firebat and transported to a hospital while Zartan, who still appears as Ripcord, is transported to the Pit by Clutch and Breaker.

THE  COMMERCIAL
[ issue47.zip - 1.54 mb - 30 seconds ]

Description Wet Suit, Beach Head and General Hawk streak across sea waters to a Cobra base that quickly rises out of the water. Inside the rocky column with a giant Cobra symbol at the top, Cobra Commander watches the Joes approach on Devilfish and then orders Dr. Mindbender and two Cobra Eels to intercept and destroy the Joes. Cobra draws first blood by destroying Hawk and Wet Suit's Devilfish, however, Beach Head picks the Joes up, zips through the two Cobra Hydro-sleds and hits them so hard enough that they flip over and cause Dr. Mindbender and the Cobra agents to fall into the sea.

Lyrics
You're on a high speed mission in enemy water
There's no turning back
You aboard the G.I.Joe Devilfish
Devilfish
When you run into a Cobra attack

Cobra's got a new Hydro-sled
Cobra's an evil foe
And Cobra's new Hydro-sled
Is going to get G.I.Joe
